I am just fending Charlie off my breakfast,he has already had his toast and now wants mine. The weather has been fantastic for October, nicer than a few months ago, cant believe it.Just put a load of washing on and Hoping I can hang it out side.I will be cage cleaning this morning and then off to Southport for a few hours.
I have just been looking at this on the news and now it looks like the little boy was put up to it by his Dad.So sad to use children for your gain.It is now saying the father may be charged.
I have a feeling that Beau started plucking as a result of the crop burn,it must have been so painfull and horrible for him. I then think he realised that plucking means atention so when he goes in the cage he fusses with his wing so you come for him and give attention. He is a very young grey and has been through so much.Ashe is so young this habbit should be curable.Have you thought of an animal behaviourist to give some ideas.
Regarding the room you can bird proof, can the bird he is friends with go with him to this room?It could be a very good idea enabeling this habbit to be broken and his wings to grow back.
I have a question purely out of curiosity, did the vet give an anasthetic to pull the feathers?
Ronnie you have put in to words how I feel about Charlie,my life is so much richer with his love and devotion and I just want to give him the best life I can in his little world. He has just captured my heart.Just like Ceasar has yours.
I am so pleased this scam has been exposed. What a sad individual to use someones identity for false gain.I wish you luck and hope no more of your information or work is being used.
It could be a novelty value that Whisper is finding .You cant do a lot about it.Just continue as normal and let Whisper find her own way round your husbands return,I hope all goes well for you both.
Julie that picture is precious.I think Cracker wants one,I know Charlie would not even go near his cage with one in it but Cracker would love it.Karma to you.
I am sure the vet can give some idea what is going on with Maggie. She has had a lot of diet change in a short time and I am wondering if this may be the cause of some of her symptoms. Please let us know how things go at the vets.
Keep up the flying exercise as this will get him fitter. If he has been a perch potato for a long time muscles and such will need to be built up.Also if his flights are in bad condition that wont help at all.Fingers crossed he gets flying soon.
I think you are doing great in the short time you have had her.You are on the right track with taking things at her pace and realising her best times for a head scratch. Just watch her body language and give her space when she wants it.The talking may or may not happen but probably will given time. She has come on so well in such a short time.
It sounds like you are at the end of your tether.I think we have all experianced this in some degree. Greys or any large bird are a lot of work and can really be hard to keep. All I can say is it is your decision but remember we are all hear to help when the going gets tough.
