  1. I have a grey he’s 35 years old. Amazing bird!! Have had him since since he was 2 months old. I have a question he has an amazing amount of red feathers. His neck is ringed with red feathers along with his entire stomach. Rare???

  3. Yesterday was 6 months with Vannah. I am more like her play gym than her human now. She crawls on my lap and sits on the blanket with me. She LOVES chewing on just about anything (thus the blanket on the chair to save ti chair). We are trying to get her stay on top of or in her cage even with the door open. She crawls down and looks for me if she knows I'm home😏. She is doing better with my Husband still, but she doesn't sit with him or go looking for him. I think she is starting to say good-night to the other birds. One goes bed about an hour before the others and she says "good-night sweetie" when we cover the other bird. She says it again when the third one gets covered too. I made her a play gym and I can't seem to add a picture but her preferred activity is dangling from the perch by her beak and waggling her feet. I think she's saying, 'mama, come hold me'. Her previous care giver occasionally comes to visit and she loves that, but immediately comes back to me. Sometimes in front of him. He is sad not to have her anymore but very glad that we do.

  5. Easier for me to google hunt than to dig through my livejournal , and that lead me back into this forum here here // Dommie at Omer//kitties// Riamfada and 3 turns on dime https://shanlung.livejournal.com/118669.html I write a lot now in Facebook. Especially as I finally accepted my friend Charles begging me to take his grey in Sep 2019 That poor grey spend all her life at end of chain, at least 12 years. For 5 years, she attacked and bite the first keeper until she was sold for a song to Charles. Who then was attacked and biten for another five years until he begged me just to take her. I did not want to as I knew well the responsiblity I got to take, and no travelling to Taiwan and other parts of the world. Only when C19 hit us as I knew travelling days over, that I accept the grey in July this year. And that was when I gave her the name of Vorna, the good witch of Rigante world and she was the first to see Riamfada running to the ancient tree. Vorna bite and nailed me most painfully in her first 2 months as I fought the battle for her heart and mind. And she decided me and my wife do not deserved the biting and nailing and became sweet to us, sweeter to my wife. And at end of September 2020, Vorna was on my shoulder and did not chomp my ear off https://www.facebook.com/shanlung/posts/10158787964993421 Vorna was brutally clipped in asymmetrical way and I hoping for her to molt and regain her gift of flight. Wish us luck

  6. Well Monday will be 3 months with Vannah. A couple weeks ago my husband started waiting for her to climb down off her cage, which was the only time he could pick her up. He picked her up like normal, but started taking her into the bathroom (stool covered of course) and negan routine training with her on stepping up. Though she knew how, she wouldn't do it for him unless she was on the floor. It took about a week, and now she will come off the cage for him. We are both a bit relieved because he'd have to wait to go anywhere until I was home of Vannah got hungry and went inside. We were worried about this for emergencies too. She still doesn't like him, but her level of tolerance is growing. With me, she will do anything. For only having her 3 month I am shocked at how well she's adjusted. She lets me put new things in her cage, she lets me pick her up like a football if I need to, and she will try anything I ask her to. I didn't expect this kind of trust so soon.
