All,

As no one here controls the domain name greyforums.net, and it could expire or be transferred or sold....

greyforums.org has been secured as a backup domain.

Should one day we loose the domain for whatever reason, the site will be transferred to greyforums.org

The domain will then be transferred to Taylon.

I have no reason to believe the domain will go away, but I want you guys to always have the information stored here.

After everything was repaired, I just got to thinking about it and want to have a back up plan.

Backups are for emergencies only, so no worries. Just being safe.

Can't edit profile/change avatar

Not urgent by any means but just thought I'd report that I was unable to edit my own profile to change my avatar yesterday. I stupidly didn't note the error received but it just seemed like I didn't have permission to do it.

Was just poking around looking at new features when I saw it so thought I'd update Alfie's photo with a better one. I'm in no rush to change it though and I may be the only one with the issue so this is definitely not a major issue!

I'll try it again later when I get home from work and will grab the error if I'm still having issues with it.

Cannot change profile photo (minor issue)

I saw your posts in the chat box so figured I'd make an actual post about this issue.

It's a really minor one but as it was mentioned in chat I figured I'd log it properly.

My profile picture disappeared and was replaced with a 'N'. I am unable to change it back to a photo. I am using the default blue theme at the moment.

I click on my username in the top right and go to my profile.

I then click the photo button at the bottom left of my current profile picture. This loads an empty box which I think should be where I can upload a photo - but that never appears for me (as shown below)

I click the continue button and the colour of my profile picture (with the 'N') changes.

So it just looks like the section to upload a new picture isn't loading properly.

Like I say, it's a minor issue and doesn't really bother me- I just noticed it when my picture disappeared and I tried to upload a new one.

I haven't done any kind of trouble shooting from my end (e.g different browser, clearing cache, different forum theme etc etc). I'll try and make some time to try a few things to see if I can get it working. If I do, I'll post what I did.

Until this site gets off the "SPAM Friendly" list, I activated both the email verification, AND a site admin has to approve the registration.

That being said, it is easy to spot spam email addresses, and if someone wants to register bad enough, they will send a note through the system.

I will keep an eye on it for the next few weeks and see how this works out.

I'm also going to make a separate post where to find the contact us, and the reason.

Ok folks, I have implemented KeyCAPTCHA in this updated version, and it is TOUGH for a bot to get by it.

If something does get by it, it will most likely be a human.

See if it cuts down on the spam.

Beak issue

Can't save edited profile

I've been trying to add stuff to my profile but I cann't save it because of the Random Question thing at the end. It doesn't like my answer, or any other answer I've tried.

Found the offending permission issue, and I think I tagged all the forums for read only for guests, if I missed one let me know..

Thread title colour in activity feed clashes with background colour in 'red' theme

When I view the activity feed I cannot see the thread titles because the text colour is the same as the background colour. This means I often open up the same thread multiple times because I don't realise the posts are from the same thread.

So for example:

I'm not sure if this is an issue across all themes but it's definitely the case with the red theme for me.

I usually put "like" or "thanks" on posts I have read. I was readying the unread content today and after a point, when I hit "like" a message popped saying "you can't put any more reactions today." That isn't the exact wording, but something like that. Is there are limit on likes or thanks or is that a bug?

Finding latest threads

First off... wow, what a change! Loving the new layout! Thank you for all the hard work that went into getting things up and running!

Secondly- this isn't a problem as such, more of a general 'how to' query. I'm still finding my way round the new site so I may be missing some obvious things. This also isn't a complaint or a grumble. Just looking for the best way to navigate around the new site.

I can see there is an 'unread content' and 'activity' button at the top and these take me to an activity stream with all the latest posts/comments. However I can't seem to find a way to get to the threads these comments come from, so some of it is out of context. It will say "so and so posted something in somebody elses thread" but doesn't give the thread title and I can't seem to find a way to get to that thread from the activity stream.

At the moment I'm ignoring these two buttons and looking at each 'room' to see which threads have been updated and reading through them there, as I like to see the whole conversation rather than just the latest comment/update.

If someone else has found a better way to see the latest updated threads (rather than just the latest comments) please can you let me know how?
